Bristol School Linking builds relationships between children across our city, encouraging a sense of togetherness, challenging prejudice and stereotypes, and contributing to a more cohesive city. The project twins year 5 primary classes from demographically diverse schools across Bristol for a year long programme. Together the children from those classes explore four key questions together:
Who am I? – exploring identity
Who are we? – celebrating diversity
Where do we live? – promoting community
How do we all live together? – championing equality
The project is free, flexible and fully resourced, and the curriculum is mapped to SMSC requirements.

Here’s what some Bristol schools told us about the impact of the project over last academic year:
"One of the most powerful aspects was children beginning to reflect about themselves - they learnt more about who they are, what they do, and what they take for granted."
"They saw that kids living 20 minutes away had a really different life experience than them."
"They want to do it again next year - either with the same schools or different, and take it further!"
We are delighted to be partnering with the Arnolfini this academic year. Who are supporting us to celebrate the work the children do together and to make school exchanges and meetings possible.
Bristol School Linking is part of The Linking Network and backed by the DfE, MHCLG, Pears Foundation and the Dulverton Trust.
We think Bristol children should be part of this incredible adventure!
